1,500-Calorie Meal Plan for Women Over 50

Women over 50 who want a clear, no-guesswork 1,500-calorie plan for steady weight loss.

1,500-Calorie Meal Plan for Women Over 50

If you want a fixed number to aim at, this is it: seven days at about 1,500 calories, portioned so you do not have to weigh anything. Meals are built for women over 50, with protein at every meal and calcium- and vitamin D-rich foods daily.

The week does not repeat, but the ingredient list stays short - eggs, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, chicken, salmon, cod, shrimp, beans, lentils, oats, and plenty of vegetables.

Two snacks a day keep energy steady, and added sugar and alcohol stay low.

Portion guide

Every day is set at about 1,500 calories. To eat less, drop the second snack and cut starch portions (oats, rice, quinoa, potato) by one-third. To eat more, add 1/2 cup of a whole grain or one extra ounce of protein to lunch and dinner. Protein and non-starchy vegetables stay the same at every level.

Frequently asked questions

How do I follow a 1,500-calorie meal plan for women over 50?

Eat the five items listed for each day in order: breakfast, lunch, dinner, and two snacks. Portions are already set, so no weighing is needed. Repeat your favorite days and swap meals freely within the week.

Will I be hungry at 1,500 calories?

The plan is built to fill you up: protein at every meal, fiber-rich carbohydrates, and two snacks. If hunger still creeps in, add non-starchy vegetables at lunch and dinner first, then a little extra protein.

Can I swap meals in this 1,500-calorie plan?

Yes. Any breakfast can trade with another breakfast, and any dinner with another dinner, as long as you keep the portion sizes. Use the swap table below when you want to change an ingredient.
